Peri Privacy.
Your journal stays on your device. You choose what to record, keep and share.
No account, ads or usage analytics.
Encrypted backups and PDFs are different.
Information kept on your device
The period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, pain, energy, water, sleep, weight, temperature, sexual activity, medication information and personal notes you enter are processed on your device. Profile details you add, such as name, birth date, avatar or photo, and language, appearance, lock, cycle and reminder settings are also used locally.
You do not need a Peri account or registration with an email address or phone number. This version, being prepared for launch, has no ads, usage analytics, cloud sync or remote AI service. Journal records are not sent to Peri servers.
How records are used and stored
Your information is used to display your journal and calendar, calculate estimates and charts from your entries, schedule reminders you choose and create reports you request. Health records and saved profile photos are kept in an encrypted database on your device; the operating system securely stores its key.
The health database is excluded from automatic device backups. Uninstalling the app, resetting or losing your device may cause record loss. The Peri team cannot recover these records remotely. Device locks and updates help protect your data; no security measure guarantees absolute protection.
Permissions and device lock
Notification permission is requested when you enable reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your device with discreet wording by default. If you turn discreet wording off, others may see the content on your lock screen.
Fingerprint or face authentication can optionally lock the app on supported devices. Your operating system performs authentication; Peri does not receive biometric data. Your device may offer its own passcode as a fallback. There is no separate Peri password.
You select a profile photo using the system picker; Peri does not scan your whole gallery. Temporary copies may be created while processing photos. Location, contacts, microphone, camera and advertising identifiers are not needed; records are not imported automatically from health platforms.
Encrypted backups and restoring
A .peri backup is created only when you request one. The encrypted file contains your journal, profile and settings. Its recovery key is not embedded in the file; keep the file and key in separate safe places.
The Peri team cannot unlock a backup if its key is lost. Restoring replaces existing records on your device after your confirmation. If you move a backup to another app or cloud folder, that copy is subject to the service’s terms.
PDF reports and sharing
PDF reports are not encrypted. They contain your chosen date range and selected information; identity information and private notes are excluded by default. A PDF is not a backup that can restore your records.
Saving or sharing is your choice; Peri does not share automatically. System sharing and file pickers may keep temporary copies. Copies you send to another person, app or cloud service are subject to the recipient’s or service’s privacy terms.
Deletion and your choices
Edit or delete records, remove your profile photo and revoke permissions in device settings. My space → My data → Delete all removes local Peri records and scheduled reminders.
Previously exported backups, PDFs and shared copies are not removed by this action; manage them separately. There is no server account or journal, so there is no online account-deletion process.
Contact and scope
If you email support, your address and message reach us through the email service and are used to answer your request. Do not include health records or backup keys in your first message. Contact the same address to request deletion of support correspondence.
This information covers the local version of Peri being prepared for launch. Privacy information and in-app explanations will be updated if data-processing features change.
